If we have hope, are grateful, and believe, then we inspire and move each other forward in a positive way.
Many leaders are inspiring me by how they are stepping up to the challenges of Covid-19 and pivoting.
My hope is that an improved culture will rise out of this crisis. A culture of AND. Knowing how to focus on people AND productivity at the same time. Knowing how to respect individuals AND differences. Using spiritual beliefs AND science. A culture of AND brings together rather than separates.
Gratitude has helped me weather this crisis. There are so many things I’m grateful for right now. Gratitude is not about being happy all the time. It is acknowledging and dealing with the difficult AND being grateful for what we have. Gratitude creates cultures of AND. Gratitude holds reality and hope together.
Here are some of personal examples of how gratitude helps to ease me using AND. I’m saddened by the passing of my mom on January 19, 2020 and my dad on Feb 13, 2020 AND I’m so grateful they passed away before Covid-19 restrictions. We were able to see them, say I love you and hold memorial services with people we love. I’m anxious at the loss of my income stream AND excited to have this chance to retool, reset, and focus more on gratitude.
As an entrepreneur for over twenty years, like the leaders I work with, I struggle with how to pivot, to fit in and give back and still make a living. Gratitude helps me through.
How are you pivoting? What’s your AND today? What AND do you want in the future?
